Xavier baseball tops Wautoma for fifth-straight victory

APPLETON – The Xavier baseball team evened its season record with a 7-2 nonconference win over Wautoma on Wednesday at Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the WIAA State Baseball Tournament.

The Hawks, which lost their first five games to start the season, have now won five in a row to move to 5-5 this season.

Reed Flick had a pair of RBI and Alex Mueller had two of Xavier’s seven hits in the victory.

Five different Xavier pitchers combined to hold Wautoma (4-7) to two runs and six hits, with only one walk.

Xavier will host New London for a Bay Conference doubleheader at Don Hawkins Field on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
