Fond du Lac rallies in sixth to slip past Appleton East softball

FOND DU LAC – After Appleton East pulled ahead with a three-run sixth inning, Fond du Lac retaliated with a three-spot of its own and defeated the Patriots 5-4 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Friday at Fond du Lac High School.

Torie Neubauer ripped a three-run home run in the top of the sixth to give the Patriots a 4-2 lead, only to see Fond du Lac (11-4, 7-2 FVA) rally for three runs, with the go-ahead run coming in on an RBI double by Mckenna Thome.

Nina Kubiak had two hits for Appleton East (2-9, 2-7 FVA).

Appleton East plays at Appleton North on Monday.
