Fox Valley Lutheran softball stays unbeaten with doubleheader sweep of Oconto Falls

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran softball team kept its winning streak intact, earning its ninth and 10th-straight victories to start the season with a 12-0 and 15-10 doubleheader sweep of Oconto Falls in North Eastern Conference action Friday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
Madison Babcock and Brianna Dahlke combined on a five-inning two-hit shutout in the opener as the Foxes scored all 12 runs in the first three innings.
Nora Probst had three hits and two RBI, and Dahlke smacked a two-run homer and finished with three RBI in the Game 1 win for the Foxes.
The Foxes (10-0, 9-0 NEC) scored 13 runs in the top of the second inning to open up a big lead, but Oconto Falls (3-8 overall and NEC) didn’t fold, crawling to within five by the end.
Natalie Bromm went 3-for-3 with a home run and drove in five, and Claire Pfrang, Probst and Babcock each had two RBI in the Game 2 victory.
Fox Valley Lutheran will play a nonconference game at Seymour on Monday.
