Xavier softball holds off Ripon

APPLETON – Xavier put up a pair of three-run innings early and went on to defeat Ripon 6-4 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks (8-5) scored three times in the opening inning and added three more in the third, then held off a late rally to top Ripon (4-11).

Addison Hervey had a double, a triple and an RBI, and Kaila Stammer had a pair of doubles and drove in two for Xavier.

Xavier’s next game is Tuesday at Green Bay West/East.
