Appleton East softball blanks Appleton West

APPLETON – Appleton East scored in each of the six innings and shut out Appleton West 11-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Thursday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.

Appleton East (2-6, 2-4 FVA) put up four runs in the first inning and were never threatened, holding West (1-6, 0-6 FVA) to five hits as the Patriots did not walk a batter or commit an error.

Opal Sparkman went 4-for-4 with two RBI, and Allisyn Briggs and Lydia Dahlman also each drove in two runs each for the Patriots.

Chloe Didreckson had two hits for the Terrors.

Both teams are back in action Friday as Appleton West travels to Appleton North, and Appleton East hosts Neenah.
