Appleton East baseball shuts out Appleton West

APPLETON – Cade Prestigiacomo struck out 11 in a complete-game effort, and had three hits and drove in two runs as Appleton East defeated Appleton West 4-0 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.

Prestigiacomo held West to five hits and did not walk a batter to earn the shutout as the Patriots improve to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the Fox Valley Association.

Nick Verbeten also had an RBI for Appleton East.

Cameron St. John suffered the loss for Appleton West (1-6, 1-5 FVA), striking out eight over five innings.

Appleton East will host Wausau East for a nonconference doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday. Appleton West’s next game is Tuesday at Appleton North.
