Appleton North baseball slips past Kaukauna

APPLETON – The Appleton North baseball team broke through with a pair of runs in the fourth inning and defeated Kaukauna 3-1 in Fox Valley Association action Thursday at North High School.
With the game tied at 1-1, Nathan Ramus and Teegan Karpinske had back-to-back RBI singles to give the Lightning (9-4, 6-3 FVA) the lead.
Colin Reddy earned the pitching win, striking out five over six innings, with Karpinske picking up the save, working around the two batters reaching for the Ghosts (8-6, 5-4 FVA).
Jackson Skorr had three of Appleton North’s six hits and drove in the other Lightning run.
Appleton North will host Fond du Lac on Friday.
