Appleton North softball grabs road win at Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – The Appleton North softball team won for the fourth time in its last five games, posing a 7-3 win over Oshkosh West on Thursday at Oshkosh West High School.

After the Wildcats (9-8, 6-6 Fox Valley Association) scored three times in the opening inning, Appleton North pitcher Charlotte Radtke entered in relief and shut them out the rest of the way, finishing with 12 strikeouts, no walks and four hits allowed.

Appleton North then put up seven unanswered runs, scoring in each of its final four at-bats.

Radtke also had three hits and drove in three, and Valerie Baranczyk had two hits and two RBI for the Lightning (8-9, 6-5 Fox Valley Association).

Brianna Gehrman, Callie Weber and Alyssa Wald also had two hits each in the victory.

Appleton North hosts Kimberly on Friday.
