Xavier’s Gentry wins individual title at Appleton West Boys Golf Quadrangular

APPLETON – Xavier’s Jonah Gentry shot a 79 to finish second and help the Hawks to a second-place finish at the Appleton West Boys Golf Quadrangular on Saturday at Chaska Golf Course.
Slinger’s Jed Fahrenholz had a 76 to win medalist honors and help the Owls to the team title with a score of 322.
Xavier was second with a 332, Appleton West third with a 335 and Fox Valley Lutheran fourth with a 374.
Appleton West’s Lucas Downs and Prestynn Evers each shot 80 to tie for fourth.
Grant Neumann and Phillip Schmidtke shot 84, Tyler Kaufman and Jack Schmidtke had 85s, and William Bauman had an 87 as well for Xavier.
Austin Arizola had an 86, Graham Goldschmidt fired an 89, Tom Bertram shot 96, and Thomas Wendt had a 102 to round out Appleton West’s scoring.
Kaden Kusserow and Ethan Ruppel also shot 86 to lead Fox Valley Lutheran. Quinn Murphy had an even 100, Zaine Weise shot 102, Gavin Schmidt had a 111 and Gabe Heiges shot 131 as well for the Foxes.
Appleton West, Fox Valley Lutheran and Xavier will compete at the rescheduled Metro Invitational at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood on Monday beginning at 9 a.m.
