Clintonville baseball ekes out win despite no-hitter from Fox Valley Lutheran’s Heimerl

CLINTONVILLE – Fox Valley Lutheran pitcher James Heimerl threw a complete-game no-hitter, but Clintonville was able to scratch out the game’s only run in a 1-0 victory Tuesday at Clintonville High School.

The Foxes had just two hits, both by Zach Daily, and could not muster a run against Clintonville pitcher Andrew Lederer, who tossed a complete-game shutout as the Truckers improve to 2-15 and 2-13 in the North Eastern Conference.

Heimerl struck out five and did not walk a batter, but some defensive blips in the third inning gave Clintonville its lone run on an error, a groundout and two passed balls.

Fox Valley Lutheran (11-7, 7-5 NEC) will host Green Bay Notre Dame for a nonconference game on Wednesday.
