Xavier ties for second at Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament

APPLETON – All four of Xavier’s scoring golfers finished in the top 10 as the Hawks tied for second at the rain-shortened Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at a rainy and windy Chaska Golf Course.

The scheduled 18-hole season-finale tournament was shortened to nine holes due to the weather.

Seymour won the team title with a score of 154, 10 strokes better and Xavier and West De Pere.

Vince Sigl shot a 36 to defeat teammate Tristan Drath by one shot to lead Seymour.

Derek Watry tied for fourth with a 38, Jack Schmidtke shot 41 to tie for eighth, and Kyle Watry and Jonah Gentry both had 42s to finish in a five-way tie for 10th for Xavier.

Xavier will compete at a WIAA Division 2 regional at Northbrook Golf Course in Luxemburg on Tuesday, May 27.

The top four teams and top four individuals not on the qualifying teams move on to a D-2 sectional at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour on June 3.
