Appleton West baseball uses seven-run sixth inning to push past Neenah

NEENAH – Appleton West scored seven times in the top of the sixth inning to pull ahead and defeat Neenah 11-7 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Friday at Neenah High School.

Dimitry Edmunds had an RBI single, and after two walks loaded the bases, Michael Gwiazdon doubled to clear the bases and give West an 8-5 lead.

Alex Hammond added a two-run single later in the inning for the Terrors, who are now 4-14 overall and 4-11 in the FVA.

Gwiazdon also picked up the pitching win, striking out eight over six innings for the Terrors.

Mack Krause had three hits, including a home run, for Neenah (8-12, 6-9 FVA).

Appleton West will play a nonconference doubleheader against River Valley at Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
