Hartford rallies to defeat Appleton East softball in WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal

HARTFORD – Aubrey Krogman hit a grand slam and drove in six to lead Hartford to a 15-7 win over Appleton East in a WIAA Division 1 softball regional semifinal at Hartford High School.

Appleton East (5-19) took the lead with a three-run second inning only to see Hartford bolt ahead 5-3.

After the Patriots rallied with a four-run fifth inning, keyed by three errors and an RBI single by Torie Neubauer, to go back up 7-5.

The lead didn’t last as Hartford (22-5) scored five times in the bottom of the fifth and five more times in the sixth to pull ahead for good.

Lauren Voss and Alivia Fischer also homered in the win for Hartford.

Aubrie Erickson had two hits for Appleton East.

Hartford will host Fond du Lac (16-10) in a D-1 regional final Thursday.
