Appleton North girls pick up four medals at 2025 WIAA State Track & Field Championships

LA CROSSE – The Appleton North girls track team secured four medals, while Fox valley Lutheran won two and Xavier one at the 2025 WIAA State Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Nora Waddell finished as the runner-up in the Division 1 girls pole vault with a vault of 12 feet, 6 inches, and was one of four Lightning state qualifiers to reach the podium with a top-six finish.

Isabel Parrish took third in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.64 seconds; the 1,600 relay team of Ashley Parrish, Jada Ellis, Sophie Busch and Ava Helmbrecht finished fourth in 3:56.82; and the 3,200 relay team of Eva Busch, Helmbrecht, Sophie Busch and Elise Brazzale took sixth in 9:13.52 to also secure hardware for Appleton North.

Fox Valley Lutheran earned a pair of sixth-place finishes – Jacoby Dobberstein in the Division 2 boys 300-meter hurdles (39.47 seconds), and the girls 800 relay team of Alaina Patchett, Cailyn Groth, Faith Schumacher and Mya Burleton (1:45.30).

Xavier’s lone state medal came from Caroline Basehoar, who placed sixth in the D-2 girls pole vault (11-6).
