Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball drops road game at Kimberly

KIMBERLY – Kimberly scored seven runs in the first inning on just one hit and went on to defeat Appleton Post 38 12-2 in American Legion baseball action Wednesday night at Sunset Park.
Five walks and two hit batters led to the big inning for Kimberly (2-2), which scored in each of its five at-bats to win due to the 10-run rule despite finishing with just three hits.
Jack Kangas hit a solo home run for Appleton, which drops to 2-5 this season.
Appleton Post 38 will compete at the Black River Falls Tournament this weekend, beginning with a game against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau on Friday at 5 p.m.
