Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball rallies late to defeat Kaukauna

KAUKAUNA – The Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball team overcame a five-run deficit to defeat Kaukauna 11-8 on Monday at Kaukauna High School.
Trailing 7-2 after four innings, Appleton scored twice in the top of the fifth and poured on seven in the sixth to take the lead for good.
Post 38 sent 11 batters to the plate in the decisive sixth inning.
Charlie Blevins had an RBI single to start the scoring. Dimitry Edmunds followed with a two-run single and scored on a double by Logan Hudson to give Appleton a 9-8 lead.
Following a strikeout, Kellen Gilbert had an RBI single and scored on an error to finish off the scoring.
Hudson went 4-for-4 and drove in three, and Gilbert and Edmunds both had two RBI for Post 38.
Post 38 will play at the Green Bay Hornets on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
