Appleton West football pummels Green Bay East

GREEN BAY – Appleton West overcame a one-point halftime deficit and dominated the second half as it rolled to a 55-22 win over Green Bay East to open the 2025 football season.

West quarterback Connor Navis threw a touchdown pass to Bennett Nelson and ran in from the 14-yard line for a score, but a missed extra point allowed Green Bay East to take a 14-13 lead into halftime.

The Terrors controlled the second half, outscoring Green Bay East 42-8 as Navis threw three third-quarter touchdown passes and added another in the fourth.

Individual statistics were not provided.

Appleton West will play its home opener, and final nonconference game, next Friday, Aug. 29, against Sheboygan South.
