Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball goes 4-2 at Beast of the Northeast Tournament

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team finished 4-2 at the Beast of the Northeast Tournament at the Champion Center on Friday and Saturday.

FVL defeated Edgar 2-0, Sheboygan Falls 2-1 and DeForest 2-0 in pool play on Friday to advance to the Gold 2 bracket. The Foxes won their first match Saturday against Wausau Newman Catholic 2-0 before losing tight matches to eventual tournament champions Holmen 2-1 and Bay Port 2-1.

Alaina Patchett had 32 kills and 10 digs, Kenzie Loberger finished with 78 assists, 10 kills, nine service aces and 43 digs, and libero Riley Schmitz had a team-best 70 digs in the six matches for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Brianna Stewart added 23 kills, Ellie Hayes had 22 kills, Cailyn Groth finished with 22 kills and Amara Jahner had 39 digs and eight aces as well for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran will take on Bay Port again in a nonconference match at home on Thursday.
