Xavier girls volleyball thumps New London in Bay Conference opener

APPLETON – The Xavier girls volleyball team, ranked No. 2 in the latest Wisconsin Valley Coaches Association Division 2 state poll, won its Bay Conference opener with a 3-0 sweep of New London on Thursday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks cruised 25-7, 25-4, 25-10, in the lopsided win.

Sydney Neilitz had 15 assists, Bella Daley had seven kills, and Hope Kaufman had six service aces and six digs for Xavier.

Grace Hackl had a team-high 10 digs and Braelee Kiepert added five kills in the win for the Hawks (10-2 overall).

Xavier returns to action Tuesday for a nonconference home match against Kaukauna.
