Xavier girls volleyball places 10th at two-day tournament in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – The Xavier girls volleyball team went 4-3 to place 10th among 32 teams at the Charger Challenge, which was hosted by Sussex Hamilton at the Milwaukee Sting Center on Friday and Saturday.
Xavier (21-6) had wins over Franklin 2-1 (25-22, 18-25, 17-15), Mukwonago 2-0 (25-18, 25-14), Sauk Prairie 2-0 (25-18, 25-12) and Luxemburg-Casco 2-1 (20-25, 25-22, 15-10), while losing to Slinger 2-0 (25-21, 25-22), Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels 2-1 (25-16, 23-25, 15-8) and Oconomowoc 2-0 (25-14, 25-18).
Senior setter Sydney Neilitz had 120 assists and 10 aces, and Lexi Allen and Rose Kendall each had 33 kills to lead the way for the Hawks in their seven matches.
Lily Renz had 11 aces, Bella Daley added 25 kills, and Grace Hackl finished with 58 digs as well for Xavier.
Xavier will play a Bay Conference match at Winneconne on Tuesday.
