Appleton East boys soccer shuts out Appleton West

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys soccer team picked up its second Fox Valley Association win of the year, defeating crosstown rival Appleton West 3-0 on Tuesday night at Pickett Field at East High School.

Kingston Xiong scored off an assist from Collin Hansen, and Ivan Vera added another score as the Patriots took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Vera assisted on a Rama Ramadhani goal in the second half to pad Appleton East’s lead.

Jack Benz made 13 saves in goal for the Patriots, earning the shutout win.

Appleton East is now 4-2-4 overall and 2-1-4 in the Fox Valley Association. Appleton West drops to 2-10-2 and 1-5-2 in the FVA.

Appleton East will play in another crosstown rivalry game on Thursday at Appleton North. Appleton West’s next game is at Gibraltar on Saturday for a nonconference contest.
