Fox Valley Lutheran football shuts out New London in weather-shortened contest

APPLETON – Fox Valley Lutheran quarterback Gabe Heiges returned from injury and threw a pair of touchdowns to lead the Foxes to a 21-0 win over New London on Friday at Fox Valley Lutheran.
The game was delayed by lightning in the third quarter and never resumed. FVL was awarded the win and is now 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the Bay Conference. New London falls to 1-6 and 1-4 in conference play.
Ian Holmes returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown to give Fox Valley Lutheran a quick lead.
After missing the past two games, Gabe Heiges returned to complete 5 of 11 passes for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns to his brother Braden Heiges, who caught three balls for 88 yards overall, including a 51-yard touchdown.
Holmes and Jack Schlueter had interceptions for the FVL defense.
Fox Valley Lutheran will play at undefeated Winneconne on Thursday.
