Xavier, Appleton East, Appleton West compete at Kimberly Cross Country Invitational

KIMBERLY – Appleton East, Appleton West and Xavier competed at the seven-team Kimberly Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Kimberly High School.
Kimbelry swept the team titles behind girls race winner Elie Volheim (19:32.3) and boys winner Graham Piette (16:53.4).
In the boys competition, Xavier placed third, Appleton East was fourth and Appleton West fifth. The Appleton East girls took fourth, with Appleton West sixth and Xavier seventh.
Xavier’s Nora Erickson earned a top-10 finish in the girls race, taking 10th in 21:33.6. Noelle Nevins was 19th in 22:09.5 as well for the Hawks.
Appleton East’s Evie Eidemiller took 13th (21:49.0) and Olive Crownhart was 18th (22:09.1), and Appleton West’s Marlo Seefeldt finished 14th (21:53.7) and Caroline Breed was 16th (22:00.9) for top-20 finishes.
Xavier’s top runners were Elijah Gottschalk, who was 13th in 17:50.2 and Ben Magnuson took 40th in 19:30.0.
Kegan Phalin took 15th in 17:56.6 and Roan Hesselman was 22nd in 18:50.1 for Appleton West, and Graham Campbell finished 25th in 18:53.2 and Liam Krainik was 34th in 19:18.4.
Appleton East and Appleton West will compete at the Fox Valley Association Meet at Countryside Golf Course in Kaukauna on Oct. 16, and Xavier will run at the Bay Conference Meet at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Oct. 18.
