Xavier girls volleyball sweeps Menasha in regular-season finale

MENASHA – The Xavier girls volleyball team wrapped up its regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Menasha in a Bay Conference match Thursday night at Menasha High School.
The Hawks won 25-23, 25-13, 25-19, to finish 6-2 in the Bay Conference and 27-10 overall. Menasha ends up 4-4 in the Bay Conference.
Setter Sydney Neilitz had 34 assists, with Lexi Allen slamming down 14 kills and Bella Daley adding seven in the win for Xavier.
Bella Velasquez had 14 digs and three aces, Allen and Taelyn Kiepert also had three aces each, and Grace Hackl added nine digs and two aces for the Hawks.
Xavier is the No. 1 seed in its portion of the WIAA Division 2 Sectional 2 bracket and will host the winner of a quarterfinal between West Bend East and Little Chute in a regional semifinal next Thursday, Oct. 23.
