Appleton North/East boys swimming places second, Appleton West Co-op third at Terror Relays

APPLETON – Appleton North/East finished second and the Appleton West Co-op team placed third at the annual Terror Relays on Friday at Appleton West High School.

North/East finished with 49 points, one behind team champion Brillion/Valders/Chilton, with Appleton West third with 40 points in the nine-team, all-relay meet.

Appleton North/East won the diving competition and also placed first in the 100-meter medley relay with the team of Akhil Maheshwari, Brady Koplitz, Will Zinth and Gael Vera winning in 1:05.53.

The Appleton West Co-op, which also includes swimmers for Kimberly, Kaukauna and Hortonville high schools, won four events.

The team of Emerson Middendorp, Hayden Hollenbeck, Ethan Shalkhauser and Ethan Bruce won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.53 and the 200 freestyle T-shirt relay in 2:17.43; the 300 individual medley team of Hollenbeck, Shalkhauser and Pasholk won in 3:16.58; and the 300 backstroke team of Pasholk, Middendorp and Bruce was first in 3:10.90 for the Appleton West Co-op.

Appleton North/East will compete at the West Bend West Invite on Saturday before going back to West for a Fox Valley Association dual Tuesday against Appleton West/Hortonville/Kaukauna/Kimberly.
