Werfal nets 1,000th career point as Appleton North girls basketball rolls past Oshkosh West

APPLETON – Avery Werfal scored 14 points to surpass the 1,000-point plateau for her career as the Appleton North girls basketball team downed Oshkosh West 63-39 on Friday in a Fox Valley Association game at Appleton North High School.
Tay Maass had a team-high 20 points, and Brooke Schuh drilled five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points to pace the Lightning, who are now 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the FVA.
Appleton North’s next game is Tuesday at Kaukauna.
