Appleton North girls basketball downs Kaukauna for fourth-straight win

KAUKAUNA – The Appleton North girls basketball team picked up its fourth-straight win by knocking off Kaukauna 56-45 in a Fox Valley Association game Tuesday at Kaukauna High School.

The Lightning jumped out to a 35-24 lead by halftime and the teams broke even over the final 18 minutes as Appleton North held on.

Avery Werfal scored 23 points and Tay Maass added 17 for the Lightning, who are now 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the FVA.

Ava Reader topped Kaukauna (2-4, 2-3 FVA) with 12 points.

Appleton North is back in action Friday at Kimberly.
