Xavier girls basketball holds off West De Pere

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team responded from a tough loss two days prior with a 48-44 nonconference win over West De Pere on Monday at Xavier High School.
The Hawks, who suffered a two-point loss to No. 1-ranked Milwaukee Pius XI Catholic on Saturday, came back with a gutty home win to improve to 6-2.
Brynn Krull scored 15 points and Hailey Hafner added 12 for Xavier.
Molly Walder topped West De Pere (3-5) with 13 points.
Xavier will compete at the Hartford Invitational on Dec. 29-30, taking on Kettle Moraine and Slinger.
