Appleton West Co-op finishes second, Appleton North/East eighth at Ashwaubenon Boys Swimming Invite

ASHWAUBENON – Ethan Pasholk won the 100-yard backstroke and helped the Appleton West/Hortonville/Kaukauna/Kimberly boys swim team to a second-place finish at the 15-team Ashwaubenon Jaguar Invitational on Saturday.

Pasholk won the 100 backstroke in 53.55 seconds and also placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:46.68) for the Appleton West Co-op, which ended up with 223 points to take second. Bay Port won eight of the 12 events and earned the team title with 441 points.

Owen Schmitz won the diving event with a score of 440.5 for Appleton North/Appleton East, which placed eighth in the team standings with 180 points.

Cash Braun placed fourth in the 50 freestyle (23.04) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (52.01) as well for Appleton North/East.

Kegan Phalin was fourth in the diving competition with 192.45 points, Ethan Bruce took fifth in the 100 butterfly (56.50), Hayden Hollenbeck was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.29) and sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:06.46), and Emerson Middendorp placed sixth in the 100 backstroke (58.16) for the Appleton West Co-op.

The Appleton West Co-op will be among the teams competing at the Appleton North Invitational on Saturday.
