Appleton North boys basketball downs Fond du Lac for sixth-straight win

FOND DU LAC – The Appleton North boys basketball team jumped out to a 12-point lead by halftime and went on to defeat Fond du Lac 61-42 in a Fox Valley Association matchup Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School.

The Lightning (11-2, 7-1 FVA) went up by as many as 20 in the second half and cruised to the road win.

Matthew Rosplochowski hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points for Appleton North. Grant Hardy added 15, Will Sweeney had 11 and Nathan Ramus 10 in the win for the Lightning.

Zavion Davis led Fond du Lac (2-10, 2-6 FVA) with 18 points.

Appleton North has now won six games in a row heading into a big Fox Valley Association showdown at home against Neenah on Friday. North trails undefeated Kaukauna by one-half game for first place in the conference standings, with Neenah sitting tied with Kimberly a game behind the Lightning.
