Appleton East girls basketball extends winning streak to 13 with home victory over Oshkosh West

APPLETON – The Appleton East girls basketball team dominated defensively in the first half, holding Oshkosh West to just eight points, and cruised to a 58-42 Fox Valley Association victory on Friday night at East High School.
The Patriots led 29-8 at halftime and were able to hold on the rest of the way to post their 13th-straight win.
Ella Sweeney and Ella Jazdzewski each scored 13 points, and Jenna Ott had four 3-pointers to account for all 12 of her points in the victory for Appleton East, which improves to 13-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the FVA.
Samantha Panske and Ava Strasser both scored 10 points for Oshkosh West (7-8, 4-6 FVA).
Appleton East has a week off before hosting Kaukauna on Friday, Jan. 23.
