Fox Cities Stars boys hockey tops Sheboygan in overtime for eighth-straight win

SHEBOYGAN – Cale Adamovich knocked home the game-winning goal 56 seconds into overtime to lift the Fox Cities Stars boys hockey team to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Sheboygan in a nonconference matchup Saturday.

The Stars trailed 4-1 midway through the second period before fighting back, scoring three unanswered goals to force overtime.

Preston McGinnish scored with 5:41 to go in the second period, and Xander Herron and Jake Koller both had goals in the third period to tie the game and force overtime, where Adamovich nailed the winner.

Elliot Reichenbacher made 12 saves in goal for Fox Cities (16-1), which extends its winning streak to eight.

The Stars will play a big Badgerland Conference game at Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha on Tuesday at Community First Champion Center in Appleton. The two teams are tied for the conference lead with perfect 5-0 records. Game time is 7 p.m.
