Fox Cities Stars boys hockey blanks Oshkosh

APPLETON – The Fox Cities Stars boys hockey team used a six-goal second period to bury Oshkosh 7-0 in a Badgerland Conference game Tuesday at the Community First Champions Center.

Following a scoreless first period, Preston McGinnis scored twice to lead the onslaught for the Stars, who poured in six goals over the first eight minutes of the second period to take control.

Fox Cities outshot Oshkosh (8-12, 2-5 Badgerland) 58-5, with Stars goalie Elliot Reichenbacher saving all five shots to earn the shutout.

The Stars (18-3, 6-1 Badgerland) will play at Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs on Friday at 7:45 p.m.
