Appleton East girls basketball uses outside shooting to topple Fond du Lac

APPLETON – Another hot shooting game provided the Appleton East girls basketball team with a double-digit victory.

The Patriots drilled 12 3-pointers and outscored Fond du Lac by 12 points after halftime to win a Fox Valley Association game 63-47 on Friday night at Appleton East High School.

East led by four at halftime before blowing the game open with an 11-2 run early in the second half and cruised to the win, improving to 18-3 overall and 14-2 in the Fox Valley Association.

Jenna Ott made five 3-pointers to score a game-high 19 points, and Ella Sweeney had three 3s and 18 points for the Patriots.

Lily Kejo topped Fond du Lac (5-18, 3-14 FVA) with 16 points.

Appleton East wraps up its regular season next week with three games. The Patriots play home games Tuesday against Appleton North and Friday against Appleton West, before traveling to Beaver Dam on Saturday.
