Appleton North, Appleton East, Appleton West boys wrestling sees season end at WIAA Division 1 Preble Sectional

GREEN BAY – The season came to an end for the Appleton East, Appleton North and Appleton West boys wrestling teams as they failed to have any state tournament qualifiers at a WIAA Division 1 individual sectional Saturday at Green Bay Preble High School.
The top six teams in the individual sectional qualify for the team sectional and will compete for a spot in the 2026 WIAA State Team Wrestling Tournament at the La Crosse Center on March 6-7, while the top two finishers in each weight class at the sectional qualified for the 2026 WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Appleton East’s Cain Braun placed fourth at 215 pounds, and Appleton North had three eighth-place finishers – Devin Mosbah (113), Jayden Rasmussen (126) and Ryan Aldrich (285).
None of Appleton West’s seven wrestlers won a match at the 16-team sectional.
Kaukauna (292 points), Hortonville (224), Pulaski (182.5), Neenah (171.5), Luxemburg-Casco (162.5) and Bay Port (146) earned spots in a Division 1 team sectional at Neenah on Feb. 21. The teams will compete for a spot at the State Team Tournament.
