Appleton North boys basketball uses dominant second half to blow by Appleton East

APPLETON – The Appleton North boys basketball team climbed back into the Fox Valley Association title conversation with a 74-42 victory over Appleton East on Tuesday at East High School.
North dominated the second half, outscoring the Patriots by 24 points to turn an eight-point halftime lead into a 32-point victory.
With the victory, and Kaukauna’s loss to Kimberly, the Lightning and Kaukauna are tied for first place in the conference at 14-2 with two FVA games remaining.
Grant Hardy nailed four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 22 points to lead four North players in double figures. Matthew Rosplochowski added 14 points, Will Sweeney had 12 and Ben Zdzieblowski chipped in 11 in the victory.
Appleton East statistics were not provided. The Patriots have now lost 17 games in a row, falling to 1-20 overall and 0-16 in the FVA.
Appleton North hosts Fond du Lac and Appleton East will be at home against Appleton West on Friday.
