2026 WIAA state boys basketball playoff brackets announced

The brackets for the upcoming WIAA boys basketball playoffs were released on Sunday.

The postseason begins with regional quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 3, and continues with regional semifinals on March 6 and regional finals on March 7. Sectionals will be contested March 12 and March 14, with four sectional champions in each of the five divisions qualifying for the 2026 WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison on March 19-21.

Appleton East, Appleton West and Appleton North are in the same Division 1 Sectional 1 bracket.

Appleton East (1-21) is the No. 18 seed and will play a regional quarterfinal at No. 15 Hortonville (6-17) on March 3. The winner plays a regional semifinal at No. 2 Appleton North (19-3) on March 6.

Appleton West (7-16) is the No. 14 seed and will play a regional semifinal at No. 3 Marshfield (18-5) on March 6.

In Division 2, Fox Valley Lutheran (15-8) is the No. 3 seed in the bottom half of the Sectional 1 bracket. The Foxes will host the winner of La Crosse Logan (2-20) and Tomah (11-11) in a regional semifinal March 6.

Xavier (16-7) is the No. 3 seed in the bottom half of the Division 3 Sectional 2 bracket. The Hawks will host the winner of No. 6 Kiel (13-9) and No. 11 Sheboygan Falls (3-19) in a regional semifinal March 6.
