Xavier girls basketball pounds Ashwaubenon in WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team rolled out to a 20-point halftime lead and finished off Ashwaubenon 59-33 in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal Friday night at Xavier High School.
The No. 1 seeded Hawks (20-5) will host a regional final against No. 4 Luxemburg-Casco (13-12) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Xavier took a 32-12 lead by halftime and cruised to the win as eight different players scored in the victory.
Brynn Krull made five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points for the Hawks. Annika Heimann chipped in 10 points.
Lauren Seeling led Ashwaubenon (2-23) with 11 points.
