Fox Valley Lutheran girls basketball loses WIAA Division 2 regional final at home to West De Pere

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls basketball team’s season came to an end with a 55-47 loss to West De Pere in a WIAA Division 2 regional final Saturday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

The No. 2 seeded Foxes finish their season with a 21-4 record, while No. 3 West De Pere (14-12) moves on to a D-2 sectional semifinal against Xavier (21-5) on Thursday at Seymour High School. Xavier defeated Luxemburg-Casco 67-46 on Saturday.

FVL was held to 30 percent shooting (16 of 53) and was just 3-for-14 from 3-point range in the loss.

Grace Meier finished with 13 points and seven steals, Eden Last was 7-for-7 at the free throw line and added 12 points, and Kinley Peterson had 11 points and five rebounds for Fox Valley Lutheran.

The Foxes reached the regional final with a 62-34 rout of Sheboygan South on Friday at home.

Last and Maci Healy each scored 12 points, and Alana Baker had 10 in the victory.
