Xavier boys basketball shoots past top-seed Brillion to win WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal

OSHKOSH – The No. 3 seed Xavier boys basketball team shot a sizzling 57 percent from the field and knocked down eight 3-pointers as it outlasted No. 1 seed Brillion 69-61 in a WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal Thursday night at Oshkosh North High School.
All five Xavier starters scored in double figures, with Logan Ramczyk led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Xavier (23-4) will play for a Division 3 sectional title against Bay Conference-rival Seymour (26-1) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Neenah High School. The Hawks are looking for their seventh state tournament appearance and first since 2021.
Seymour won both Bay Conference matchups this season against Xavier, winning 82-69 on Dec. 9 and 79-75 on Jan. 20.
Xavier led 32-22 at halftime and were able to finish off the win with its efficient offensive performance.
Grant Neumann added 15 points, Quinn Comerford scored 13, and Kyler Bleck and Caden Schuler both chipped in 10 for the Hawks, who have won nine of their last 10 games and six in a row.
