Kaukauna slugs past Appleton East softball

KAUKAUNA – Kaukauna ripped out 15 hits and scored multiple runs in five different innings as it defeated Appleton East 16-5 in the season and Fox Valley Association opener for both teams on Tuesday at Kaukauna High School.

Appleton East mustered runs in four different frames, but more than one only once, as the Ghosts were able to pull away.

Reese Reichelt and Grace Fecteau each had two hits, with Fecteau driving in two runs, and Lydia Dahlman had an RBI triple for Appleton East.

Lily Boyle led the Kaukauna bats, striping a pair of doubles and a triple while knocking in five runs.

Appleton East plays at Kimberly at Thursday.
