Appleton North softball blanks Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – Appleton North pitcher Charlotte Radtke struck out 12 in a one-hit shutout as the Lightning downed Oshkosh West 5-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Thursday at Oshkosh West High School.

Leadoff hitter Valerie Barnaczyk was a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, Drew Brown added three hits and drove in a run, and Alyssa Wald had a double, a triple and an RBI for the Lightning, who are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the FVA.

North handed Oshkosh West (3-1, 1-1 FVA) its first loss of the season.

Appleton North is back in action Tuesday at home against Kaukauna.
