Appleton East baseball sweeps twinbill over Kingsford, Mich.

APPLETON – The Appleton East baseball team picked up its first victories of the season, sweeping a doubleheader over Kingsford (Mich.) 8-7 and 16-14 on Saturday afternoon at East High School.

Calvin Feucht went a combined 5-for-7 with three doubles and four RBI in the two wins for Appleton East, which evens its season record at 2-2.

The Patriots scored six times in the third inning and added eight more in the sixth to pull ahead in a wild Game 2.

Feucht, A.J. Thompson and Adan Vargas all drove in three runs in the win.

Appleton East will travel to De Pere for a nonconference game on Monday.
