Xavier softball earns walk-off win over New London

APPLETON – After two weeks off, the Xavier softball team finally returned to the field and earned a walk-off 5-4 win over New London in a Bay Conference game Tuesday at Xavier High School.

Kalia Stammer doubled home Elsa Dvoracek with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh after New London had rallied with four runs in the sixth to forge a 4-4 tie.

Morgan Staszak had three hits and scored three times, and Dvoracek and Quinn Hervey each had two hits for Xavier, which is now 2-0 overall and in the Bay Conference.

Staszak struck out seven in a complete-game effort in the circle for the Hawks.

Xavier plays at Fox Valley Lutheran on Thursday.
