Kaukauna blanks Appleton West baseball

KAUKAUNA – The Appleton West baseball teams lost its third-straight Fox Valley Association game, falling 11-0 to Kaukauna on Thursday at Kaukauna High School.
Carson Gates threw a five-inning one-hitter for the Ghosts, who are now 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the FVA. Gates finished with nine strikeouts, just one walk and gave up only a double to Charlie Blevins.
A seven-run second inning busted the game open for Kaukauna.
Appleton West (1-5, 0-3 FVA) will play Fox Valley Lutheran at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
