Xavier baseball holds off Menasha

APPLETON – Kyler Bleck tossed a complete-game five-hitter to lead the Xavier baseball team to a 2-1 win over Menasha in a Bay Conference contest Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.
Bleck struck out four, walked two and scattered five hits over seven innings, allowing just a single run in the sixth inning.
Quinn Comerford and Gavin Wiese had RBI sacrifice flies in the third inning to account for both of Xavier’s runs.
Matt Potter and Carter Hermus each had two hits for Xavier (3-4, 2-0 Bay Conference).
The two teams will play again Friday at Koslo Park in Menasha beginning at 4:30 p.m.
