Neenah shuts down Appleton East baseball

APPLETON – Neenah pitcher Gus Weinholzer threw a complete-game four-hitter to lead the Rockets to a 6-1 win over Appleton East in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Tuesday at East High School.

Weinholzer struck out nine and walked just one as the Rockets pulled out the road win.

Calvin Feucht had an RBI single in the third inning for the lone run for Appleton East (2-5, 0-5 FVA).

Nick Verbeten went the distance for the Patriots, giving up eight hits with two strikeouts.

Appleton East hosts Fond du Lac on Thursday.
