Appleton North softball smacks three homers in win over Neenah

NEENAH – Evelyn Frega struck out seven in a complete-game effort as the Appleton North softball team downed Neenah 6-2 in a Fox Valley Association contest Friday at Neenah High School.
Frega allowed two runs on four hits with four walks as the Lightning improves to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the FVA.
Alyssa Wald went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored, and Claire Therkildsen also had three hits, including a home run, in the victory for North.
Libby Jahnke had a home run and an RBI double to account for both runs for Neenah (4-4, 2-4 FVA).
Appleton North will play a nonconference doubleheader at Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
