Fond du Lac slugs past Appleton West softball

FOND DU LAC – Fond du Lac pounded out 13 hits and went on to defeat Appleton West 12-2 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Friday at Fond du Lac High School.

The Cardinals scored four times in the first inning and added a six-run fourth to win going away, clinching it via the 10-run rule with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

Lilliam Hanke and Sophie Rosenbaum had RBI in the fifth inning to account for both runs for Appleton West (0-8, 0-6 FVA).

Appleton West hosts Neenah on Monday.
