Appleton North softball slugs past Fond du Lac

APPLETON – Drew Brown and Charlotte Radtke each had four hits as the hot-hitting Appleton North softball team picked up its sixth win in a row with a 9-4 victory over Fond du Lac on Friday at North High School.
Claire Therkildsen drove in three runs and Valerie Baranczyk added three hits for the Lightning, who finished with 17 hits in all, and improve to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the FVA.
Evelyn Frega threw a complete game to earn the win for Appleton North, striking out five with three walks.
Appleton North will play a nonconference game at undefeated Fox Valley Lutheran on Monday in a make-up for a game that was postponed by rain on April 27.
